Costume Contest

Basic Duties: Organize and publicize the contest, recruit judges, explain rules to the contestants, collate judges' rankings, and announce winners and awards.

Council of Elders

Basic Duties: The Council of Elders are former Odyssey Con chairs who can serve as a sounding board and source of wisdom for concerns of the current concom or Chair.

Cross-Promotions

Basic Duties: As part of its promotional efforts, Odyssey Con has a presence at other SF cons in the Midwest. Minimally, it sends fliers for their freebie tables, but — in increasing order of involvement — it may also staff informational tables, sponsor panels, run games, or host open parties. OddCon promoters attend these other cons at their own expense, except for OddCon-specific materials, specifically any fliers; posters; and party decorations, food, and drink.

Dealers' Room

Basic Duties: Solicit participation from vendors; stay in touch with the ones who sign up; make sure they've paid up; prepare a list of who they are, where they're from, and what they're selling; assign them table and floor space in the room; advocate for the vendors within the concom; and solicit feedback on vendor experiences at the con, financial and otherwise.

Basic Duties: Arrange for live entertainment, such as a band, movie, novelty act, dance, variety show, strolling minstrel, cabaret, etc.
